Professional water heater service in San Antonio

I’m Kurt Pinkerton, Rainstone’s responsible master plumber. Watch how we handle water heater repair and replacement on real jobs here in San Antonio — then call us any day from 5 AM to 11 PM, and we’ll take care of yours.

Thirty-eight years in this trade, 27 of them carrying a master plumber’s license, and it all reduces to this: do the work like the inspector is family and the customer is family. I’m a grandfather — I know what a family home runs on, and it runs on hot water. San Antonio’s hard water kills more water heaters than age does, which is why I push honest sizing and regular maintenance so hard. And don’t let anyone talk you out of the permit: it’s your proof the job was done safely and to code. Every job we finish carries a warranty, and my name.

Water Heater Services in San Antonio

Our San Antonio office, at 24123 Boerne Stage Rd, Suite 455, is home base for Rainstone’s work across the Alamo City and the Hill Country edge — including the two communities that belong to this office, New Braunfels and San Marcos. The nine services are the ones we hang our name on everywhere: inspections, repairs, replacement, installation, tankless systems, maintenance, emergency repairs, leak detection, and commercial water heaters.

San Antonio’s water arrives from the Edwards Aquifer, and it is hard enough to be a character in every job story we tell. It scales tankless exchangers, fills tanks with sediment, and punishes any water heater that is not maintained — in a city that also asks those heaters to serve big households, military families on the move, and a steady stream of new construction from the north side to the Hill Country corridor. Our answer is the same discipline we practice everywhere: a $125 service call, a diagnosis of the whole system rather than the symptom, and a written quote before any work begins. If the tank can be saved, we save it and tell you how to keep it alive. If it cannot, we will show you why.

Staying ahead of hard water is exactly what our annual maintenance visits are for — a flush for tank systems, a descaling for tankless, done on schedule every year. The San Antonio office answers seven days a week, 5 AM to 11 PM, at 210-972-1022.

From the field: a San Antonio tankless, scaled shut

The complaint was a familiar one in San Antonio: a tankless water heater that had started delivering bursts of cold water mid-shower, then faulting out altogether. Edwards Aquifer water is some of the hardest in Texas, and a tankless heat exchanger feels every grain of it.

On inspection, the exchanger’s narrow passages were lined with mineral scale and the inlet filter was carrying more of the aquifer than it should. The unit was not failing — it was suffocating, slowly, the way every undescaled tankless in this city eventually does.

The fix was a full descale, the filter cleaned, and the unit returned to steady service the same visit — then the part that actually prevents the sequel: an annual descaling rhythm, set before the crew left. Tankless units here do not wear out so much as they scale up. Kept on schedule, this one has years of quiet work ahead of it.
